Kirsten is currently the Director of Humanitarian Policy for the University of Virginia's Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. In this role, she is leading a University-wide research agenda on global humanitarian crises. Her research areas include humanitarian leadership, humanitarian data, and displacement. Additionally, she is a senior lecturer teaching both small seminars and large lectures on international humanitarian policy.
